Yorme says P100M talent fees went to charity

Republika

AROUND P100 million in fees coming from Manila Mayor Isko Moreno’s endorsement of various kinds of products since 2019 have gone to charity.

This was revealed when, during an interview, Moreno was asked if any of the owners of the products he had been endorsing so far has already pledged to donate to his campaign kitty. Moreno is running for President under the Aksyon Demokratiko party.

“Hindi ko pa alam pero I’m pretty sure, hindi ko nakita kahit singkong duling ang talent fees ko,” the mayor enthused during an interview that followed the groundbreaking of the soon-to-rise President Corazon C. Aquino General Hospital in Baseco, Port Area, Manila.

Moreno also said he feels good that his endorsement fees went to helping the sick and those displayed by nature’s wrath in Taal, Cotabato and Cagayan, adding that a school for the nuns was also among the beneficiaries.

It will be recalled that during the start of his stint as mayor of Manila, Moreno donated the fees he got for his first endorsement, that of a clothing apparel company, to a cancer ward for children located in a national government hospital.

The mayor said he had lost count as to the number of endorsements he had done since he sat as city mayor in 2019.

These include food supplements, drinks, clothes, aesthetic products and even pandemic-related items like ionizer and vitamins.

Meanwhile, Moreno thanked those who have been putting up billboards and other promotional materials for him, out of their own, personal money.

“Nagugulat ako kasi ang daming billboard up to Maguindanao, Northern Luzon and Visayas. Lima singko. Pero wala pa talaga kaming official na materials. Kung anuman nakikita ninyo, gastos ng tao and I am grateful, whoever they are,” said Moreno, who is the presidential bet of Aksyon Demokratiko party.

Moreno said he is happy at how their political party continues to grow fast, adding that those who share their common intention, which is to heal the country which been divided by politics for the past decades and implement quick action to take the country of the quagmire it is in, are most welcome to join Aksyon Demokratiko, regardless of the political party they come from.
