Manila Mayor Isko Moreno last week led groundbreaking rites for a 20-story condominium for informal settlers in San Andres Bukid.
In a brief message, Moreno said the Pedro Gil Residences, which is the fifth in-city socialized housing project, will benefit the lives of hundreds of poor families.
“While we are busy with the pandemic, we need to continue our dreams. We will not let Covid stop us. We will give security to families who are renting,” he said.
The condominium project will provide 3,209 units, each with a floor area of 40 sq. m. with two bedrooms.
It will have a health and fitness center, swimming pool, activity lawn, five elevators, basketball court, function rooms and 125 parking slots.
Just recently, City Hall began construction of the San Lazaro Residences.
Moreno said the Tondominium 1 and 2 and Binondominium low cost housing projects are slated for completion later in the year.
Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan assisted Yorme in the groundbreaking activity.
