Mayor of the nation’s capital Isko Moreno has approved the release of P350 million from the city’s 2021 executive budget for the mid-year bonus of 8,745 city government workers.
Under Ordinance No. 8702, or “An Ordinance appropriating the amount of twenty billion pesos (P20,000,000,000.00) under the General Fund Executive Budget of the City of Manila for Fiscal Year 2021”, about P350 million will be allocated for the mid-year bonus of the Manila City government’s regular employees.
The mid-year bonus is set to be transferred to the local government workers’ payroll accounts beginning May 18.
According to Moreno, the mid-year bonus for regular city government employees will still push through even with the whole country still under a state of public health emergency.
“We are under the State of Emergency in the city of Manila and at the same time we are under the State of Public Health Emergency as declared by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte,” the mayor said.
“Para po maibsan ang hirap na tatahakin ng ating mga manggagawa natin sa pamahalaang lungsod dahil sa Covid19 pandemic,” Moreno added.
