A woman reportedly gave birth last week outside a Sta. Ana hospital after she was denied admission over the absence of swab test results.
The woman’s live-in partner said that the hospital still refused them admission even after they asked them to accept swab test results at a later time as the woman was already in labor.
Despite the unconventional venue of the child’s birth, both mother and infant are in good condition.
The Department of Health requires pregnant women to present a swab test result before the expected time of birth.
However, in April of last year, President Rodrigo Duterte had ordered hospitals to accept patients regardless of if they are suspected of being infected with Covid19.
