Woman arrested in P200M investment scam

Republika

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested a Las Pinas businesswoman for allegedly duping several airline workers of some P200 million in a bogus investment scheme.

The NBI said that the suspect (identified here only as “Lolit”) succeeded in scamming some 200 unsuspecting employees of a big local airline by offering them fantastic returns for monetary placements in a non-existent real estate business.

It was disclosed that the suspect managed to gain the trust and confidence of the numerous victims through an accomplice who was working as a flight attendant in the same airline firm.

The NBI said the suspect is no stranger to the con game as she also has a warrant of arrest in connection with a 2016 estafa case for issuing 3 bouncing checks.
