The Albay provincial prosecutor’s office has indicted Peter Joemel “Bikoy” Advincula for the murders of Donsol Councilor Helen Advincula Garay, businessmen Dela Rosa Averilla and Xavier Alim Mirasol, along with the attempted murder of Laline Herrera Amor.
On the morning of November 11, Advincula went over to the Daraga Municipal Police Station to report stumbling upon the bodies of the deceased at his thrift shop the evening prior.
Unbeknownst to the ex-whistleblower of President Rodrigo Duterte’s alleged drug ties back in 2019 who later on recanted his accusations, Amor had already reported his crimes at the station the night before.
Amor stated that she and the three others had been called to the shop by Advincula himself, though, unlike her companions, she had managed to escape death.
While the local Philippine National Police (PNP) questioned Advincula’s supposed finding of the bodies only to report it the next day, Amor was hidden within the station.
According to Police Lt. Col. Bogard Arao, they had garnered enough evidence to proceed with the formal charges.
He also mentioned that the killings were most likely personally motivated, as the suspect had allegedly sought to loan money from the victims.
This runs contrary to the belief that the murders were for political benefit, as Advincula’s live-in partner is slated to run for mayor of Donsol in next year’s polls.
