As part of the Smart Bakuna Benefits of Ingat Angat (a campaign led by the private sector), fastfood giant Jollibee is offering vaccinated individuals a discount of 10 percent for dine-in transactions. Jollibee Foods Corp. is a listed Asian food conglomerate and their promo will be until November 30 this year.
Jollibee is well-beloved by many Filipinos and they are known for iconic food items such as Chickenjoy fried chicken and peach mango pie. Recently, they re-launched Honey Beef Rice, a classic item on their menu first introduced in the ‘90s.
The Smart Bakuna Benefits program is a joint effort by over 150 restaurants from the National Capital Region (NCR) alongside neighboring provinces including NCR Plus. They all have discounts on offer specifically for people who are inoculated.
Ingat Angat, the campaign which the program falls under, is a campaign led by the private sector with the goal of restarting the country’s economy. They look to do so by encouraging safety protocols. It aims to encourage more and more people to get vaccinated.
Jollibee aside, other stores that are participating include Burger King, Chowking, Greenwich, Mang Inasal, and Panda Express among others. Red Ribbon also offers the discount for transactions that are take-out orders.
In order to avail of the incentive, vaccinated customers need to show their vaccine card alongside any government-issued ID. This promo applies to people who are not fully vaccinated yet (having gotten a single dose out of the two required) also.
To date, there are 186 total supporters of the Ingat Angat campaign. Sponsors and partners go beyond the food industry. Gas companies, malls, banks and other parts of the private sector have all come together too.
“We are glad to extend the discount promo so more customers will enjoy the benefits of vaccination apart from protecting their health. We hope that through this collective effort of the restaurant industry,” Jollibee Group’s chief sustainability and public affairs officer Pepot Miñana says, “more Filipinos will be encouraged to get inoculated so we can help the country achieve population protection at the soonest time possible.”
