At least six Visayas local governments still require inbound travelers to present a negative RT-PCR test result even if they are fully vaccinated: the provinces of Bohol and Iloilo and the cities of Bacolod, Calbayog, Tacloban and Iloilo.
The League of Provinces requested the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) to hold their previous order that allows fully inoculated persons to enter their region by presenting a vaccination card.
Bohol IATF spokesperson Dr. Yul Lopez said that there was still the risk of some people using fake vaccination cards or documents just to gain entry.
According to Iloilo City mayor Jerry Treñas said that their doctors were “not confident” about doing away with the test result requirement.
Previously, the national government said that LGUs may just require vaccination cards in lieu of a negative RT-PCR test result for interzonal travel.
Meanwhile, for senior citizens, vaccination cards or a certificate of quarantine completion from the Bureau of Quarantine is sufficient for them to go around and about.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque and interior secretary Eduardo Año also issued similar warnings regarding the falsification of documents pertaining to vaccination or swab test results.
