Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio recently warned against individuals who may be soliciting money in her name, under the pretense of raising money for her presidential campaign.
Last week on social media, she informed the public that she had caught wind of solicitations toward different groups, including businessmen.
“Huwag po kayong magpaloko sa campaign fundraising na ito,” Duterte-Carpio urged, calling this act a “scam” and a “form of deception.”
“Wala po itong pahintulot mula sa akin. Huwag po kayong maniwala,” she added.
After topping a Pulse Asia survey on people’s preferences for presidential candidates next year, Sara Duterte has been speculated to run for the presidency, which she has denied.
The President’s daughter had already requested that survey groups exclude her name with regards to available presidential candidates.
President Rodrigo Duterte had also said that he had discouraged his daughter to run for the highest post in the land, saying that the presidency was no job for women.
