The facade of San Beda University earlier this week shone pink, expressing by no uncertain means their support of Vice President Leni Robredo’s prexy run.
The university, which produced prominent alumni – among whom is none other than President Rodrigo Duterte – said that the Vice President represented Benedictine values and qualities that are ideally present in a leader.
“The San Beda Community is ONE in support of VP Leni’s presidential bid, believing that she embodies the Benedictine ideals of pax, ora et labora (peace, pray and work) and the genuine servant-leadership qualities that the Filipino nation is yearning for especially during this troubled time,” San Beda vice president for administration Fr. Aelred Nilo told student paper The Bedan.
Joining San Beda in donning pink lights were Adamson University, Universidad de Sta. Isabel and Ateneo de Naga University.
Earlier, Robredo met with volunteers in Masbate City where they celebrated her improvement in presidential polls. Stratbase ADR Institute Inc. ran a survey from Oct. 20 to 23, which showed Robredo in second place with 18%. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led with 47%. This was considered an improvement as she placed last in previous surveys.
Among San Beda’s other notable graduates are detained Sen. Leila de Lima and presidential candidate Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, upon whom they conferred an honorary doctor of laws degree.
