Salary of Manila’s nurses hiked

Republika

City Hall has approved hefty pay increases for the salaries in its health department, as well as all six hospitals in its wing.

Per Ordinance No. 8700 which Manila Mayor Isko Moreno inked last week, concerned health workers will be getting an average increase of P10, 000 in their monthly payslips.

“It is only fair that they receive a higher salary since they continue to serve and ensure the safety of the people against Covid,” Moreno said.

Councilor Bernie Ang, the Mayor’s secretary, said Ordinance 8700 conforms to Republic Act 9173 (the Philippine Nursing Act) and the guidelines set by the Department of Budget and Management.
