The Department of Health last October 17 revised their reporting of Covid19 data revealed that Rizal province overtook Metro Manila with the most number of cases in the country.
The DOH broke down their record of new infections by province or city. Of a total 2,673 new cases, Rizal led with 185 cases, followed by Cavite with 175 and Batangas with 159.
Quezon City was the only Metro Manila city that was part of the top five areas with highest number of infections at 143 new cases. Bulacan followed at 88 new cases.
Coronavirus in the country appears to be on the downtrend, however, the World Health Organization (WHO) appealed to the public to “hold on a bit longer” and keep following safety protocols.
As of writing, the Philippines has logged over 360,000 confirmed cases, with some 311,000 recoveries and nearly 7,000 fatalities.
