CEBU CITY–A woman in San Fernando, Cebu allegedly accused three police officers of raping her inside the police station on Saturday, May 8.
The accused, whose names were undisclosed, held the positions of Police Master Sergeant, Police Corporal, and Police Patrolman.
Based on probers’ initial investigation, the woman’s testimonies had inconsistencies or else were fabricated.
The woman told the investigators that she was raped at about 8 p.m. by the accused at the San Fernando Police Station, but the three police officers were out as they were responding to an incident, according to Cebu Provincial Police Office chief, Police Col. Engelbert Soriano.
Police Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo, chief of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7), said that the woman’s story kept changing but still they gave her the benefit of the doubt.
Montejo immediately ordered the policemen to disarm and relieved them from their posts. He suggested to the accused to file counter-affidavits against their accuser if her allegations against them were fabricated.
According to reports, the woman and her cousin were supposed to travel to Negros Oriental and when they arrived in San Fernando, her cousin took P3,000 from her and left, which is why she sought the help of the policemen.
