The Construction Materials Wholesale Price Index in the National Capital Region ( CMWPI) in NCR rose further at an annual rate of 2.4 percent in April 2021. Its annual growth rate in March 2021 was registered at 2.2 percent, and in April 2020, 1.5 percent.
The index of fuels and lubricants posted a double-digit annual increase of 22.3 percent in April 2021, from 6.8 percent in March 2021. In addition, annual hikes were higher in the indices of the following commodity groups during the month:
• Concrete products and cement, 1.6 percent;
• Doors, jambs, and steel casement, 1.4 percent;
• Electrical works, 2.5 percent; and
• PVC pipes, 2.6 percent.
Meanwhile, annual increments slowed down in the indices of hardware at 1.7 percent; and lumber, 1.3 percent. Moreover, an annual decrease of -2.2 percent was still noted in the index of plumbing fixtures and accessories/waterworks during the month.
Other commodity groups either moved at their previous month’s annual growth rates or maintained their zero percent annual growth during the month.
