Senator Panfilo Lacson said he may run for president in 2022, but only if Senate President Tito Sotto agrees to be his vice presidential running mate.
Speaking with Senate reporters last week via Zoom, Lacson said the Lacson-Sotto tandem is already “cast in stone” if things pan out to their satisfaction.
“Walang iba kundi si Sen. Sotto. Usapan na namin ‘yan,” he said.
For his part, Sen. Sotto has mentioned publicly he will run for vice president if and only if Lacson finally decides to throw his hat into the ring.
Sen. Lacson, according to Senate sources, may still seek re-election next year, while Sotto will be stepping down as senator as he will be reaching his term limits in mid-2022.
