U.S. pharmaceutical giant Pfizer has formally applied for emergency use application (EUA) of its much-sought-after Covid19 vaccine paving the way for its widespread use in the country.
The Department of Health (DOH) said that Pfizer had submitted its EUA application to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Dec. 23.
FDA chief Eric Domingo said it would take some three weeks to evaluate Pfizer’s documents.
But he added this shouldn’t be too difficult considering that the same vaccine – which reputedly has an efficacy rate of 95 percent – had already hurdled the requirements of concerned health agencies in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, the EU, Bahrain, Singapore, Mexico, Saudi Arabia etc.
