The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) will submit this week to President Duterte the result of its investigation into alleged corruption at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
This developed as DPWH Secretary Mark Villar expressed his full support to President Duterte’s order to the Department of Justice to lead the investigation against perceived corruption not only in the DPWH but the entire government agencies.
Villar said, the task force earlier created will continue its internal investigation but of course we will support the President’s directive and we welcome the external task force.”
“Internally, meron na kaming mga reports and we’ll come out with some findings soon. Both high and low ranking. Wala naman kaming pipiliin,” Villar said.
PACC Commissioner Greco Belgica said that since the publication of their investigation last week, the cases are growing everyday.
Belgica said that they will also furnish copies of their report to the DOJ since there are names and cases outside of the PACC’s jurisdiction.
The PACC is investigating five separate cases at the DPWH, eight new cases at the PhilHealth, and several others at the Bureau of Customs, Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Belgica said.
Belgica refused to name those involved but said they are holding high positions including undersecretary, assistant secretary, regional directors and directors.
