Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives nabbed seven suspects including a minor in a buy-bust operation in Gatchalian Subdivision, Las Piñas City last April 16.
The agents seized shabu estimated to be worth P122.4 million. The drugs consisted of 17 blocks and 19 sachets of shabu, which amounted to 18 kilograms concealed in Chinese tea bags.
The minor, a 14-year-old boy, along with a 20-year-old house boy, was with the suspects aged 20, 30, 34 and 41.
PDEA spokesperson Derrick Carreon disclosed that they had been following their “Whisperer” case operating plan for some time already.
The suspects are believed to be members of Chinese gangs, particularly those involved in the so-called Golden Triangle.
A shabu stash worth about P210 million was earlier unearthed, also hidden in Chinese tea bags in Brgy. Almanzo Uno in Las Piñas
