A convicted high-profile criminal last week was found lying lifeless inside his cell in the New Bilibid Prisons maximum security compound.
Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) officials said carnap gang leader Raymond Dominguez had died of “natural causes” on his prison cot, claiming no signs of foul play were seen on his body.
But this was disputed by Dominguez’ wife, Mae, who said she had just spoken to him by phone the night before and he wasn’t complaining of anything.
BuCor sources said Dominguez had last year been infected twice by Covic19, but recovered. He also had a history of asthma and hypertension.
Dominguez was in 2012 sentenced to 17-36 years in jail for carnapping and homicide, after being implicated in the deaths of two car dealers who were selling to him.
