Jollibee Foods Corp. was last week obliged to shut down one of its franchised outlets in the upscale Bonifacio Global City (BGC) shopping center following a hugely embarrassing incident where a customer’s fried chicken order turned out to be a face towel.
A Facebook post by Alique Perez – which went viral to the consternation of Jollibee top brass – alleged that her fried chicken meal which was coursed through the company’s app was a “deep fried blue towel’ coated in breading.
This resulted in the three-day closure of the Bonifacio Stop-Over branch to give way to a thorough review of its compliance with procedures and retraining of staffers to ensure the incident will not happen again.
“This is really disturbing. How the hell do you get the towel in the batter and even fry it?” Perez wrote in the FB post, which was accompanied by photos and a video clip.
