The Court of Appeals has a new chief in Associate Justice Remedios Salazar-Fernando.
Fernando, who had studied at the Ateneo de Manila law school and the College of the Holy Spirit, was recently designated by President Duterte as CA presiding justice.
Her other high-profile assignments were as chairman of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board and commissioner of the Commission on Elections.
Fernando, 67, was the acting presiding justice of the CA since the retirement of Romeo Barza in Aug. 2019, and was the sole candidate for the vacancy.
