Netizens blast Mom Sharon for visiting daughter Kakie in NYC using private jet

Republika

Megastar Sharon Cuneta recently took a friend’s private plane to surprise her daughter, singer and writer Frankie Pangilinan, with a visit. Frankie, also known as ‘Kakie’ to her family and her loyal Wattpad readers, is a student at New York City’s The New School.

On Instagram, Cuneta shared a series of posts about how a friend (referred to as Doc Noel) has a private plane that took her to New York to visit her daughter. “Doc Noel’s birthday celebration continues in New York, and praise God for Noel because he flies his friends wherever he wants! So I got to fly private again for the first time in years & slept so well for about 4 hrs.!!! [various emojis] And I still would’ve come to NY for my girl even if I’d had to fly with a bird!”

She also rode a private helicopter, also provided by said friend, to make the final trek from New Jersey to New York. “Plane lands in New Jersey, and we are flown by chopper to Manhattan! Woooow! Thanks so much again, Docs Noel & Filippo for flying us to NY!”

Many netizens were amused, spawning memes and hilarious takes.
One netizen wrote: “Sharon Cuneta lumipad mula Los Angeles papuntang New York. So ‘wag na kayo magtaka, baka nakalimutan niyo minsan siyang naging si DARNA!“ (Sharon Cuneta flies from Los Angeles to New York. Don’t wonder, you might have forgotten she was once [Filipino comic book superhero] Darna!)

Another netizen attached a screengrab from an old commercial of Cuneta where she appears to be flying in mid-air to their comment, saying that’s what their first thought was upon reading a headline about Cuneta flying.
A screengrab from the same commercial at a different angle was shared by another netizen who asked: “Ganito po ba siya lumipad?” (Is this how she flew?)

Aside from pursuing her college degree in New York, Cuneta’s daughter Frankie is an indie pop singer-songwriter in the Philippine music scene. Her debut single back in 2019, “TYL,” was produced by Original Pilipino Music (OPM) icon and legendary Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia.
