Malacañang has imposed general community quarantine over the National Capital Region Plus bubble until the end of the month.
In contrast, nine localities were placed under modified enhanced community quarantine: Bataan, Cagayan de Oro City, Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte and Davao Occidental. Meanwhile, Iloilo City and Iloilo province will remain under MECQ until July 22.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque clarified that the latter two areas’ status may change should their numbers not improve.
Under GCQ with heightened restrictions are: Cagayan province, Laguna, Lucena City, Naga City, Negros Oriental, Zamboanga del Sur and Davao City. MECQ will stay in the following areas only until July 22: Aklan, Bacolod City, Antique and Capiz.
Regular GCQ will be in the following regions: Metro Manila, Apayao, Santiago City, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, Quezon, Batangas, Puerto Princesa City, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga City, Davao Oriental, GenSan City, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Cotabato, South Cotabato, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands and Cotabato City.
All other regions not mentioned remain under modified GCQ, the least restrictive quarantine status.
