How many resolutions have you made this year? Do you think you have covered all the avenues of your existence? Or is there a little secret that lies hidden in your life?
These are some of the questions we ask ourselves as we struggle to make a list of the things we should do. What should we do with our lives now that we are near the closing stages of our existence? Here is a list of the things one can do.
One, you can join a group or club or maybe you can organize one yourself and call it Monday Group or Wednesday Club or maybe Friday Boys and you can meet every week at your favorite restaurant and exchange pleasantries, have some coffee or what not.
Two, tend to your plants and if you don’t have any yet make sure to have at least four or even more. One or two of your friends would like to discuss your plants with you.
Three, take a walk early in the morning. It’s a good exercise. You can take a leisurely walk but never one that can make you lose your footing.
Four, make sure you get your copy of Republika or what not early in the morning. Aside from the banner, read the news and all the other items in there. Who knows, you might find an item or two of interest to you.
Five, give yourself enough rest. Early to bed and early to rise, so they say and you should take heed. Like going to bed as early as eight and waking up as early as four. Remember you need eight hours of sleep.
Six, see the world. If you can afford it, you are healthy enough and your schedule doesn’t have any conflicts go out and see the world. Go see Rome where the gladiators butchered each other and where the chariots raced against each other. As for me, I am more interested in the Vatican, the residence of the pope.
Seven, see once again my colleagues in the profession and my fellows in my provincial life. How nice it would be to reminisce about the old days and recall how each and every one of you made a fool of each other.
Eight, do you have three children? Make sure that for each one of them you should at least have one grandchild and you should treat each one of them equally. Well, this is more of wishful thinking which betrays the fact that I still have two to go.
But this is all I can think of and I will do everything in my power to make them all come true. So let us roll out our sleeves and go to work.
