Manila purchases 800,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses

Republika

The city government of Manila has paid a total of P38.4 million for the purchase of 800,000 doses of Astrazeneca Covid19 vaccine, enough to cover 400,000 individuals at two doses each.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno made the announcement in a live broadcast, where he also explained the importance of the said information.

He also said that the AstraZeneca vaccines are expected to arrive anywhere between April and September this year.

The 800,000 ordered doses, Moreno assured, is on top of the vaccines that will be given to the city by the national government.

The city government of Manila became the first among local government units to enter into a tripartite agreement with AstraZeneca. ANDI GARCIA
