Aurea Erfelo, more commonly known as “Madam Auring”, has died at 80 years old.
The news was confirmed by grandson Simon Pecson in a Facebook post last October 30. Included in the post was a photo of her with family. He wrote: “#RestInPeace my Lola” followed by a tribute to her.
Madam Auring is most known for correctly predicting the winner of the 1974 Miss Universe pageant, Spain’s Amparo Muñoz, and the victory of boxer Muhammad Ali against Joe Frazier in 1975’s “Thrilla in Manila” match.
She also predicted Fidel Ramos’ presidential win, former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s full term and the separation of ex-president Noynoy Aquino and then-girlfriend Shalani Soledad.
