BAGUIO CITY – A husband-and-wife couple were arrested last week when they allegedly attempted to enter this vacation hotspot using fake travel documents.
The suspects, who were reportedly planning to stay for the Undas weekend, were identified by the Baguio police as Paul Francis Ong and Sheryl Ong, both residents of Mabalacat City.
They are being charged with violation of the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act (R.A. 11332) as well as Falsification of public documents.
Baguio police chief Col. Allen Co said the Ongs were arrested at the Irisan checkpoint on Naguilian Road in the evening of Oct. 29 after the travel papers they presented turned out to be spurious.
According to Col. Co, the Mabalacat City police and the Jose Lingad Memorial General Hospital denied ever issuing them their travel passes and medical certificates.
