House Bill 8759, which seeks to build Limay General Hospital in Limay, Bataan, was approved in the last and third reading in the House of Representatives.
Authored by Rep. Joet S. Garcia, of the 2nd District of Bataan, the approved bill can now provide Limay town with a hospital.
“We are happy to inform you that our bill has been approved in the last and third reading in the House of Representatives, which is House Bill 8759 or an Act Establishing in the Municipality of Limay, Province of Bataan, a general hospital to be known as the Limay General Hospital,” Garcia said.
The construction of this government hospital is due to the spike in the number of Covid-infected residents in Limay and its neighboring towns like Mariveles and Orion.
The location of the general hospital is also where the multi-billion-peso Bataan Petron Refinery is situated, a fact that prompted the lawmaker to craft the approved bill.
Garcia said that the hospital can provide medical facilities, beds and more access to quality and affordable medical services which were lacking.
