The SHEPHERD | Danilo Q. Junco

Anything or everything that Christians should do must always be in congruent to our Lord Jesus Christ words based in the New Testament of the Bible, particularly the Four Gospels written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John or even to the writings of Apostles Paul, Peter, and John or the 27 books.

This is so because any church or denomination must adhere to Christ words as recorded of the 27 books of the New Testament, although the Old Testament, which is composed of 39 books, is also part of the entire Bible which we can also cite of the records of God’s creation, His judgment on the time of Noah, and Sodom and Gomorrah and the history of mankind or the nations of the world, as all Scriptures is inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Like in the case of All Souls Day or All Saints Day as this has been taught to our forefathers when our land was discovered by Spain through voyager Ferdinand Magellan on March 16, 1521, though he was killed by our patriarch Lapulapu.

History of our nation tells us that the friars or priests of the ruling religion in our country, the Roman Catholic Church, prohibits our forefathers from reading the Bible as they have claimed that they are the only authoritative to read and interpret it as they have studied for 14 years.

In other words, most Filipinos are ignorant of what is written in the Holy Book or God’s Word.

This celebration of All Souls Day and All Saints Day you cannot find that the Lord Jesus has commanded His disciples who later on became apostles to do it as commemorating the souls of the departed loved ones is vehemently opposed by God as He said this in Deuteronomy 18:9-14 practiced by the seven nations in Canaan which is now Israel.

The reason for this because the dead person physically as his soul and spirit won’t die but only his physical body because of sin and rebellion would go back to the dust where it had come from but his soul and spirit if he has personal relationship with Jesus directly goes to Heaven, the dwelling place of God and when He comes back on earth those who died and belonged to Him will be resurrected and his triune parts body, soul and spirit are reunited and his body will be liked the resurrected body of Jesus.

God hates this practice of the people living in the mainland of Canaan and the rest of the world who are Gentiles as they have so many gods or demons as what the Bible says in1 Corinthians 10:19-21. With regard to All Saint’s Day there is nothing so special for this because all genuine Christians are saints and not only to those so-called Christians who have done great accomplishments for Christ or for His Kingdom can elevate them to sainthood (Ephesians 1:1, 1 Peter 2:9).

What is commanded by our Lord Jesus is the celebration of the Lord Supper, Eucharist, or the Holy Communion in remembrance of His death and coming back, the sanctity of marriage, to be united, to love one another and to make disciples of all nations and baptizing them in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and to teach them what Jesus taught them.

We have to review our world history about the Roman Empire domination among the rest of the nations, including Israel.

During the time of Roman Emperor Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus or well-known of his nickname Caligula reigning from 37 A.D. to 41 A.D. persecuted the Christians and even the time of Roman Emperor Caesar Domitianus Augustus or Titus Flavius Domitianus reigning from 81 A.D. to 96 A.D. whom Apostle John was in exile at the island of Patmos because of preaching and teaching of Jesus Christ. He too persecuted and killed Christians or genuine believers of Jesus Christ.

The Roman Empire or the Gentile nations as a whole are worshipping idols or gods which the Bile calls it as demons or Satanic worship. When Constantine the Great claimed to be a follower of Jesus, he incorporated the worship of idols with the shallow teachings of the Scriptures.

And here we are majority of the Filipinos are persuaded by their teaching not based on the Scriptures but on their paganistic belief and religion and many Christians then are deceived as they cited that the first Christianity that came to our land was traced to Ferdinand Magellan in March 16, 1521 featuring the Sto. Nino, the Child Jesus along with the cross planted in Cebu Island.

I challenge you to read your Bible and the history of Christians under the domination of the Roman Empire and in fact the Roman Empire changed the name of Israel to Palestine to erase the nation Israel from the face of the earth.
