GMA named Clark adviser

Angeles City – Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has been named presidential adviser on Clark plans and projects.


She will receive a nominal salary of P1 per year.


Mrs. Arroyo, whose roots can be traced to Lubao, Pampanga, was formerly Speaker of the House of Representatives before she decided to retire from public service.


Her main function will be to help in determining how best to develop the 3,400-hectare Clark Freeport which hosts over 1,000 export firms that employ 140,000 workers.


The Clark International Airport and New Clark City, which has been designated as the alternative national government administrative center, are located within Clark Freeport.
