News about the anti-Covid 19 vaccines coming into the country is apparently boosting business confidence in the country.
I’m not sure if the decisions of several big companies have something to do with it but they are really inspiring hope for the economy’s future.
For example, Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc. (CCBPI) is making a bold move that could further improve local business sentiments.
CCBPI recently announced it is investing $63 million or about P3.06 billion in the country in 2021 to upgrade its factories.
“The USD63 million investment will primarily go to continuing to increase our capacity, specifically this time in Luzon. Last year, we invested heavily in Mindanao because we saw lots of growth potential in Mindanao,” CCBPI president and chief executive officer Gareth McGeown said.
“For 2021, we’re going to invest in more production capacity primarily in our Sta. Rosa, Laguna plant,” McGeown added.
McGeown said the investment is the “first tranche for 2021” as CCBPI is committed to continuing its investments to ramp up its production capacity in manufacturing, upgrading facilities and logistics.
Last month, the beverage firm inaugurated new distribution hubs in Manila and Malabon, as well as its advanced glass bottle manufacturing line in its Davao del Sur plant.
On the other hand, in support of the building activities in the country amid the pandemic, a pioneering one-stop full-line home center has continued to expand its network outside Metro Manila.
AllHome recently opened its branch in Cauayans City, Isabela.
The newest branch is the seventh to open in Luzon, outside of Metro Manila and the 15th large free-standing store format.
The company recently opened branches in Santiago, Isabela, Cabanatuan, and Sta. Maria in Bulacan, and now has a total of 52 branches nationwide.
“With the launch of AllHome’s branch in Cauayan City, contractors, architects, interior designers, and even homeowners and design enthusiasts no longer have to travel far to access a wide range of reasonably-priced home building products and services,” AllHome chairman Manny Villar Jr. said.
AllHome president Benjamarie Therese Serrano said they are bringing expansive product offerings to Cauayan.
“Customers can check out our seven main categories to complete their homes一hardware, construction, tiles and sanitary wares, furniture, appliances, linens, and homewares,” she said.
Meanwhile, Shakey’s Pizza is doing something very encouraging for the business community.
The company is restarting a store network expansion strategy that was put on hold last year due to the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

“For Shakey’s, we are looking to further strengthen the brand’s visibility and awareness, especially in underpenetrated second and third-tier cities outside of Metro Manila,” Shakey’s president and chief executive officer Vicente Gregorio said.
“For Peri, there are still a number of unserved markets which don’t have access to the brand’s great-tasting products,” he added.
Last 2020, the company ended with 245 Shakey’s restaurants, three of which were located abroad, and 34 Peri outlets all located in the Philippines.
It also launched a number of new offerings in select outlets including the ability for guests to ‘Park & Dine’, ‘Park & Order’, eat outdoors, and order R&B milk tea -one of the leading milk tea brands in Singapore.
These are good news. We need more of them.
