Jesuit priest Father Emerito Salustiano “Salty” dela Rama, the headmaster of the Ateneo de Manila Grade School died at the age of 60 on Wednesday morning, March 24, from causes yet to be announced.
Radyo Katipunan, the campus FM radio station of Ateneo de Manila University, confirmed his death through an announcement toward the end of an 8 am online Mass, and also through a Facebook post.
Dela Rama was also the former president of Ateneo de Iloilo-Santa Maria Catholic School.
The resident reader and commentator in Radyo Katipunan’ “Keep the Faith” masses, he also presided over these liturgies from time to time.
The last time Dela Rama was seen in the Radyo Katipunan mass was on Saturday, March 20.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the untimely demise of our beloved commentator and reader in our Keep the Faith masses, Reverend Father Emerito Salustiano ‘Salty’ dela Rama, SJ. He joined our Creator early this morning, March 24,” Radyo Katipunan announced.
“The community will deeply miss you, your voice, your funny antics, your presence,” Radyo Katipunan added, as they requested prayers for Dela Rama’s soul.
