A commemorative mass was held in memory of the tragic death of the 104 individuals aboard Cebu Pacific Flight 387, which crashed on Mt. Lumot rainforest, in Claveria, Misamis Oriental, on Feb. 2, 1988.
The passengers’ family members, relatives, friends, along with local government officials, were in attendance at the mass.
A 20-meter-tall Shrine Marker that was erected at the crash site during the incumbency of former Gov. Antonio Calingin, 20 years ago, is visited yearly by the victims’ loved ones.
Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vicente Emano also took the time to announce the opening of the Misamis Oriental Tourism and Botanical Garden in Sibulig village, bordering the component City of Gingoog, and the town of Claveria, at the site of the Shrine Marker.
