Due to high demand for face masks amid the pandemic, the Food and Drug Administration recently warned the public against buying and using five brands of face masks which have not undergone the agency’s assessment process:
• Cherub Daily Protective Mask
• Just Mask Anti-Viral Face Mask
• Health Master Disposable Protective Mask
• Aidelai Disposable Face Mask
• Disposable Medical Mask
They said that the brands were not issued any Product Notification Certificates, and thus their quality or safety cannot be guaranteed.
“All concerned establishments are warned not to distribute, advertise, or sell the said violative medical device products until the Product Notification Certificates are issued, otherwise, regulatory actions and sanctions shall be strictly pursued,” said the FDA.
They also reminded consumers to always check if a product has been granted FDA certifications before buying them.
