President Rodrigo Duterte recently made remarks about Filipinos without a Covid19 vaccine. According to him, the unvaccinated-especially the ones who are actively refusing it-should be barred from resorts and restaurants.
During a taped weekly address, he did not mince words as always in a mix of Tagalog and English.
“Everyone should really get vaccinated. Those who refuse, they should not be allowed inside public restaurants or resorts because they are a threat to public health and the safety of the general public.”
He added that countrymen must understand the concept and importance. “Everyone needs to be vaccinated,” he emphasized.
In addition, the President said he supports restaurants that refuse to serve people who are unvaccinated.
“I support restaurants and all places where there is a risk of contamination of the public,” he said. “You have my support. Don’t let them eat.”
Since the country has recorded a clear dip in COVID-19 cases, he emphasized the need for continuing to practice health protocols.
At present, over 33.8 million Filipinos are fully vaccinated against Covid19. 42.6 million have gotten their first dose.
