THE love story between Captain Yoo Shi Jin of Korean Special Forces and Doctor Kang Mo Yeon, surgeon at Haesung Hospital has really rubbed on among Pinoy KDrama lovers.
The original version of the Descendants of the Sun (DOTS) reportedly shot scenes in South Korea, Greece, and Albania
The series, shown in February to April 2016 garnered awards such as Asia Best Couple for the lead stars Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo and at Baeksang Arts Award for Most Popular Male in Television for Song Joong-ki.
No wonder, the stars of ‘DOTS’ PH was ecstatic over their Seoul International Drama Awards win in August this year. The show was recognized as Most Popular Drama of the Year no less.
Naturally, the cast led by lead actors Dingdong Dantes and Jennylyn Mercado were extremely happy for the recognition of the Philippine adaptation.
The primetime series was included in the list of winners together with two other foreign dramas “Snowpiercer” produced by US broadcaster TNT and “The New Pope” produced by Sky Atlantic and HBO.
Seoul International Drama Awards has been honoring excellence in television drama productions worldwide for 15 years now. This year’s festival, held on September 10 at MBC Media Center Public Hall was without an audience.
Sending an accurate representation of the country’s military forces, DOTS PH is definitely worth watching being a good vehicle for those who want to consider military service as well for sending patriotism and love for fellow Filipinos and humanity as a whole.
‘DOTS’ PH lords it over primetime, gets more exciting with new episodes starting this November.
