Barangay Dasmariñas was called out by the Makati City government last week for its “illegal” vaccine registration and scheduling app.
In a statement, the city government claimed that the app in question was neither authorized nor linked to the city’s program “Bakuna Makati.”
The use of the app reportedly endangered the lives of some senior citizens, who gathered at Colegio San Agustin for the supposed vaccination, only to be sent home a short while later.
According to victims, a text message confirming their schedule was sent from the barangay’s vaccine registration portal and informing them that it would be done on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Makati City’s statement added: “We shall not tolerate these illegal and irresponsible actions of certain barangay officials…We shall pursue all legal courses of action against violators, whoever they are.”
Staff of Barangay Dasmariñas said that the council has been informed of the matter.
Residents who are interested in inoculation should instead register at www.proudmakatizen.com and www.covid19vaccine.safemakati.com.
