Tarlac Representative Carlos Cojuangco – the son of the late businessman Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco and wife Gretchen – died last week, it was announced.
He was 58.
Cojuangco, who was running for re-election in the May 9 polls, had reportedly been on life-support systems for the past months, prior to expiring on February 22.
Cojuangco had served as congressman for three terms in the fourth district of Negros Occidental where he was staying, and was elected Tarlac congressman a decade later after relocating there. He is being substituted by son Jaime Diaz Cojuangco.
Cojuangco is survived by his wife China, and two children with late spouse Rio Diaz who died of cancer in 2004.
