As part of promotional deals meant to encourage air travel, local airlines are now offering affordable and accessible Covid19 testing for customers.
Cebu Pacific, for one, last week launched its test-before-boarding (TBB) process for passengers after a successful pilot run in General Santos City. They offer antigen testing at P700 (the lowest rate available) which can be taken several hours before scheduled time of departure. The results will be out in 30 minutes.
The TBB facility is located at NAIA Terminal 3 and is open for walk-ins from 2 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
They also offer RT-PCR testing at P3,300 through three partner institutions—Philippine Airport Diagnostic Laboratory, Health Metrics and Safeguard DNA Diagnostics—in order to meet the requirements of several local and international destinations for a negative swab test.
AirAsia Philippines has also partnered with Philippine Airport Diagnostic Laboratory to offer antigen testing at a discounted rate of P1,000, and with Hi-Precision Diagnostics for RT-PCR testing bundles priced at P7,600 for two swab tests per person. Results are available in 48 hours.
Philippine Airlines meanwhile is offering RT-PCR tests for free for Filipino migrant workers flying in from the Middle East from Dec. 21 to Dec. 31.
