As Metro Manila enters enhanced community quarantine again, the Philippine National Police is taking charge of monitoring town and city borders.
Each city within the metro is considered a “bubble” in which consumers will be not allowed to cross even if they have quarantine passes, according to police chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar. Therefore, consumers will need to buy their essentials in their respective areas.
“From one large bubble, including the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal, the NCR will shift to tiny bubbles,” he said.
Excluded from this rule are medical frontliners, workers in essential and permitted industries as well as individuals in the list of authorized persons outside of residence (APOR). People with medical appointments, emergent medical needs and scheduled vaccinations are also permitted for inter-city travel.
The PNP has already established checkpoints in 16 cities as well as the municipality of Pateros to regulated movement of people for two weeks.
