President Duterte has approved a new law giving vote-rich Bulacan province six legislative districts, up from the previous four.
Per Republic Act No. 11546, the additional congressmen are to be elected in the 2022 national elections.
Bulacan has one of the biggest voting populations in the island of Luzon.
The components of each of the six districts are: Calumpit, Hagonoy, Paombong, Pulilan, Bulakan and Malolos City for District 1; Baliuag, Bustos and Plaridel for District 2; San Ildefonso, San Miguel, San Rafael, and Dona Remedios Trinidad for District 3; Obando, Marilao and Meycauayan City for District 4; Guiguinto, Balagtas, Pandi and Bocaue for District 5; and Santa Maria, Norzagaray and Angat for District 6.
