Binangonan police chief, 7 others relieved

Due to charges of alleged robbery and extortion, the police chief of Binangonan, Rizal and his men were sacked from their posts following the arrest of their two civilian assets.


Lt. Col. Ferdinand Ancheta was removed from his post while the investigation is still ongoing. Maj. Amadeo Estrella took over Ancheta’s post.


Also sacked were M/Sgt. Randy Andanar, S/Sgts. Joel Acosta and Joe Sevillena and Cpls. Allan Alvarez, Marson Tayaban and Ew Armenis. They were charged with the same complaints as Ancheta.


The policemen were ordered to turn over their service firearms and undergo drug tests.


According to investigators, a certain Stephen Kellu identified the suspects and their civilian assets, Albert Domingo and Pablo Dolfo Jr., and demanded P40,000, which was reduced to P20,000, in exchange for the release of his Toyota Vios, which was confiscated during a drug bust on Nov. 28.
