Legazpi City – Police have detained Peter Joemel Advincula (alias “Bikoy”) in connection with the murder of three women in Daraga, Albay.
Reports said authorities were made aware of the killings after Advincula showed up at the Daraga police station last Friday to report he had discovered three dead persons inside his rented apartment in Barangay Busay.
The victims were later identified as Councilor Helen Garay of Donsol, Sorsogon, Karen Averilla and Xavier Mirasol who all suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
All three were reportedly members of the United Nationalist Alliance political group. Garay was running for vice mayor in Donsol in the 2022 local elections, while Averilla and Mirasol were gunning for also gunning for seats in the town council.
Daraga police chief Lt. Col. Bogard Arao told reporters that Advincula is being held with bail for three counts of murder, because they alleged he had taken the victims to his apartment where they were later found dead.
Advincula, it should be recalled, was the whistleblower “Bikoy” who had surfaced in 2019 in the viral video entitled “Ang Totoong Narcolist” that linked the kith and kin of President Duterte to the illegal drugs trade.
