Ayala to build PH’s 1st cancer facility

Ayala Healthcare Holdings Inc. (AC Health) is set to build the country’s first cancer specialty hospital, in partnership with Cancer Treatment Services International (CTSI), a leading provider of oncology services worldwide.


The construction of the 100-bed facility comes as cancer ranks third as one of the leading causes of death amid the Covid pandemic.


Ayala chief Fernando Zobel de Ayala said that the facility offers “more affordable high-quality cancer care” and aims to “be an integral pillar of our integrated healthcare system.”


CTSI, a company under the Varian Medical Systems umbrella, supplies clinical services and solutions to more than 100 hospitals, clinics and medical groups and focuses on multidisciplinary oncology care.


The collaboration between AC Health and CTSI encompasses holistic cancer care from diagnosis to treatment and follow-ups.


The facility is expected to open in 2023.
