Makati regional trial court issued an arrest warrant against Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba and public information officer Rogie Sending for a cyber libel case filed by former Senator Juan Ponce Enrile.
The arrest was issued by Judge Andres Bartolome of Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 148 and the bail set for their temporary liberty was P48,000 each.
The case stemmed from a complaint filed by Enrile accusing Mamba and Sending for malicious statements against his person during a block time show over Bombo Radyo in Tuguegarao City and which are purely “motivated by ill will.”
The senator claimed he was maligned both by Mamba and Sending airs of their radio program accusing him of meddling with the affairs of the Cagayan State University, and that he was allegedly involved in “killing many” and “amassing billions.”
Mamba was a political ally of Enrile, but their relationship became sour reportedly over leadership in Cagayan province.
The office said Mamba was preoccupied with the pre-emptive response being conducted in the low-lying areas inundated as a result of heavy downpour and the swelling of the Cagayan River.
