Alden Richards could be the lockdown’s favorite star being highly visible in the boob tube for the last six months.
He continues his duties as a host on “Eat Bulaga,” as well as his appearances on “All Out Sundays” every weekend.
And he is practically everywhere with his infomercials airing every now and then as he has joined the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as the Department of Health (DOH) ambassador for its “BIDA Solusyon” information campaign.
The campaign centers on four key acronyms — B for “bawal ang walang mask (masks are necessary)”, I for “i-sanitize ang mga kamay ng 20 seconds (clean your hands for 20 seconds)”, D for “dumistansiya ng isang metro (keep your distance at 1 meter)”, and A for “alamin ang totoong impormasyon (know factual information)”.
Recently, Asia’s Multimedia Star has also accepted USAID’s invitation to be the Ambassador of #EndTB campaign.
USAID Philippines, through its TB Platforms Project, collaborated with GMA Network to promote positive health-seeking and TB prevention behavior as well as inform Filipinos about TB’s symptoms and how to access TB services in their communities.
This is on top of the shampoo brand and whisky commercials that currently airs. He is also recently seen at GMA News TV’s Bright Side, airing on its new timeslot at 9:15 p.m., sharing an inspiring moment with cancer patients.
Alden is known to have a soft spot for children with cancer. Even during lockdown, he tried finding means to reach out to these children to bring them joy and hope.
As if his schedule is not yet full, the Kapuso actor will be seen hosting a GMA Public Affairs documentary called “Lockdown: Food Diaries,” starting September 27 at 3:45 pm. The show will discuss how the coronavirus pandemic affected the food industry.
“I can really speak first-hand from experience kung ano talaga ‘yung naranasan namin,” he said.
For his own restaurants, he said, he is soldiering on as long as they can cover operating expenses.
Soon, Alden will headline I Can See You, GMA Network’s all-new, one-of-a-kind week-long drama anthology.
