All is not well with the current Metro Manila Film Festival. That’s as far as camps complaining with the early release of nominees ahead of the awards night.
Big stars, more competent performers were “snubbed” as they said. Then there are also reports that the festival is not really earning due to its digital platform, lack of publicity and a host of other reasons.
Hopefully, things will get ironed out from the organizers to producers and all involved for the sake of the movie industry as a whole.
Meanwhile, things are getting rosy and exciting for Asia’s Multimedia Star. Fresh from his highly successful 10th showbiz anniversary virtual concert, Alden Richards is set to star with Bea Alonzo in the PH adaptation of ‘A Moment To Remember.’
It’s a dream come true for Alden who has been vocal with his desire for a movie project with Bea.
The Korean film, which was based in 2001 Japanese drama “Pure Soul” and released in November 2004, follows the love story of a woman who has early-onset of Alzheimer’s disease.
In the Pinoy adaptation, Alden plays the lead actor, originally played by Korean actor Jung Woo-sung.
Bea will play the female lead originally portrayed by Son Ye Jin, who is best known for the 2020 hit Korean drama “Crash Landing On You.”
The local “A Moment to Remember” is a joint venture of GMA Pictures and VIVA Films. Shooting for the film is slated for January 2021.
In October, Bea also expressed her desire to do a movie with Alden after a brand endorsement they did together.
The project is meant to be for the popular actors. Bea recently left ABS-CBN Star Magic (but was grateful for the many years they took care of her) and got Ms. Shirely Kuan as her new business manager.
