Baguio City – Some 50 cadets and personnel in the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in Fort Del Pilar were confirmed to have been infected with the coronavirus.
Officials said that, per their investigation, unnamed employees of the military school’s food supplier were responsible for contaminating the PMA compound which had been virus-free for some time.
These people were allowed to freely enter and exit the secure compound due to the nature of their work.
Reports said the academy would be placed immediately under lockdown to prevent further spread of the virus.
“We would like to assure the parents of the cadets that everything is being done to address the emergency situation,” the PMA said.
