Baras, Rizal – Five suspected New People’s Army guerillas were reported to have been killed in a clash with government forces last week.
A bloody firefight erupted while state troopers were trying to serve an arrest warrant for a certain “Antonio Cule” who was being sought by the Infanta, Quezon regional trial court.
Army Capt. Jayrald Trenio of the 2nd Infantry Division identified Cule as the finance officer of an NPA unit operating in the Southern Tagalog area.
However, according to Rizal police chief Col. Joseph Arguelles, the subject managed to excape capture.
