Despite the ongoing global health crisis, 2020 seems to be a good year for showbiz sweethearts Arjo Atayde and Maine Mendoza who are visible with their respective projects.
Maine is highly visible on TV via Eat Bulaga and her weekly comedy show, Daddy’s Gurl via the Kapuso station.
The recent noontime show’s “Bawal Judgmental” segment featured guests who battled with depression. Maine reminded everyone to respect and not belittle people’s struggles in a series of tweets after the show.
And her latest achievement? She was named as the Comedy Actress of the Year by the 51st Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation Box-Office Entertainment Awards.
The prestigious award-giving body announced the winners for this year’s annual show last Sunday, October 18, on YouTube and TV5.
The first to laud Maine, of course, was proud BF Arjo. He posted an Instagram Story congratulating her talented girlfriend for winning the highly-coveted recognition.
“Congratulations Bubs. Always proud of you,” he wrote.
Maine, for her part, also lauded her Arjo who was chosen as the representative of the Philippines for the highly-coveted Best Actor in a Leading Role recognition in this year’s Asian Academy Creative Awards.
Arjo bagged the nomination due to his excellent performance on the iWant original series entitled “Bagman.”
Congratulations, Maine & Arjo!
